Considering how I have never been able to install stock AB2 it is definitely worth having such a script around that effectively checks the server is able to run the board, generates a basic config, installs the schema and registers the first account.

Could also be useful for quickly updating the DB schema between versions too (oh and setting the correct collation and charset as MySQL/MariaDB is weird), as well as making sure certain functionality is automatically enabled/disabled depending on what PHP extensions are installed at install time.

Plugin system would just make it easier to maintain certain things like the RPG system, things that aren't going to be used on every board.

Dunno, it's weird but so many small sites targeted to people like us who are actively looking for "older" style communities just use generic shit like XenForo, which defeats the point of such a site especially if they update and try to modernise themselves for no reason other than "waa reddit did it!!!"

Honestly the 'ABXD Classic (sharp)' theme is a better take on the 'AB2 Standard' theme IMO, but it's cool.

Speaking of ABXD, it seems to organise theming better - at least in 3.0. AcmlmBoard stores the files all over different directories IIRC. (Dunno if it's strictly better, but it's certainly easier to manage on the FTP side.)

You get hydrogen peroxide instead.

The extra 'the' in that question.

Does Miyuki Takara have a 2007 Intel Pentium/Celeron or an AMD Duron?

Only when Gay Luigi is orbiting Mars.

Are 50Hz SECAM borders more arrogant than PAL ones due to their French origins?

I'll check it out at some point. I always liked LXDE but felt it was a bit barebones.

Then again I really love XFCE's screenshot tool and CD burning software, oh and Mousepad for text editing too.

Not gonna lie. You worked so hard on this, fixing stuff up, making it all clean. Might be the first time anyone in AcmlmBoard history successfully decrapped it.

IMO, scalability is important, I imagine you plan to make this easily installable in future? Also to prevent bloat in the 'main' code, perhaps making stuff like the upcoming RPG system plugin based would be better?

The FAQ page should also be editable from the admin panel (and the actual link in the header moved further along) IMO like ABXD's plugin based one, though perhaps the categories and content could be dynamically generated and edited myBB style? Idk.

Atm I won't lie, the software feels like 'PunBB but in this day and age and looking really early 00s' and thats a compliment.

I presume by 'R4' you mean 'timebombed DSTT clone marketed as an R4', or do you own one of the original ones/clones of the R4? I used to have the 'ndslr4' clone which came out around 2008 and has SDHC support.

I'd like a multicart of some kind, probably for the N64 or SNES as reproductions seem less reliable/common compared to say Mega Drive or GBx ones. (I own a few repro Mega Drive carts - Comix Zone, Ristar and Sonic 2 Simon Wai Proto, bought off AliExpress... they work fine though do 'feel' a bit different when inserting and removing)

You get three floppy drives that contain various music samples for use with Atari ST music creation software. (there's a great article about Fatboy Slim I should find again)

It's interesting just how good I am at getting people to post and get together, considering i am usually the type of person people avoid, so.

I'll make some advice for posts/threads... if it's on your mind, and you have even just a small thing to talk about it, go for it! Like, a lot of people (especially nowadays) don't seem to get that you don't need to write an analytical, emotionless essay for everything or otherwise fear 'low quality'.

Most people are coming to a board like this for laid back discussion anyhow (obviously when/if personal projects are shared, both constructive feedback and emotive encouragement are welcome), so being indepth and refraining from funposting and inside jokes and whatnot isn't necessary (unlike on say, a customer support forum).

I sound like I own the board, christ... Guess I just wanna see it go places X3

Yes, but only the Hitachi SuperH architecture is supported by this expansion kit. Unfortunately, few devices have SuperH processors (that aren't the 32X, Saturn or Dreamcast). // shame because I like the arch, plus a real world FLOSS variant of the SH-2 exists

I'm surprised roller didn't make an entire forum for his beloved arch... so i'm making this thread.

Call me a n00b but I always loved debian xfce + the customisation options made to match the OOTB of xubuntu, it feels comfy. Xfce should probs switch to qt though as gtk is likely gonna become less and less viable for them somewhere down the line .

Yeah, I heard the fork story but didn't know much more about it than that.

Also what relevance is 'gstreamer', which going by the name is GNOME's creation (therefore it's likely shit), and its extremely oddly named plugin types. I see it a lot as a dependency.

You likely forgot to set it to visible for users. Alternatively, I'm blind.
The new way works though - any news on making announcement reply-able?

Also, when linking to a post or thread the meta description should change to the first 140 characters of the linked content minus URLs or anything in non-formatting BBCode.

(Also, selecting 'standard' as one's theme causes editprofile to then not respect that choice if you open the page again after saving. ID related perhaps?)
