I quite like the redone assets actually, kind of reminds me of FreeDOOM in that regard. The music in particular stands out to me as being especially well-done, I could see someone making a resource pack for the base game that adds them in. (I really hate the pig death SFX though, it sounds brutal... then again I feel that way about MC's one too...) And well, yeah, I don't really see the project as being intended to 'overtake' Minecraft, it's merely meant to provide a FOSS clone of it. |

I always just presumed Windows did CRLF simply in a miserly attempt to break interoperability of sending .txt files and the like between Unix-based systems and WIndows-based systems. That or it was meant as some sort of compatibility hack that doesn't actually work and never did work properly. And then don't some oddball OSes only use CR endings? Maybe some early MacOS versions? |

Curious to see what people here think of it. I haven't tried it personally. In particular, I also want to know what kind of parity it has towards any specific 'version' of Minecraft (i.e. what version of that game it could be compared to), and whether it has lua scripts that would be able to bring back things like 1.7.3 health system  OH and are there any decent servers for it? |

Gonna let you in on a little secret... Usually when being on VMF on my computer I use NetSurf. Works perfectly fine, fraction of the resource usage with Firefox  |

Ah, that makes more sense. If ever you're unsure about it, just speak the word out loud and write down whatever sounds more naturally-flowing. That's probably about the only advice I can give as a dirty monolingual native. Glad to have my old account back btw. |

I have to wonder why our owner has a strange habit of messing up his a/an usage when placing it against a 'y' sounding word spelled with a u, such as the word 'user'. (Words like 'understandable' would be preceded with 'an', however). In my dialect at least, 'an user' sounds really fucking strange. Also, depending on dialect 'h' or 'y' can sometimes operate as a vowel sound... |

Minecraft is a very cool game to manipulate voxels in it, I have a world where I've manipulated a lot of voxels. You could call me a Voxelmanip, even.  Anyways I very much like all the creative1-6 songs, they are so relaxing and always make me happy. Lots of nostalgia from 2014 too.  |

I guess it's just interesting to me that Twitter and things clearly made in its likeness are the only social media platform male nerds really use, whereas all other social media platforms are mostly dominated by more ordinary people, sex being irrelevant. (For arguments sake Reddit and Discord do not count in this argument, the former is commercialised bulletin boards and the latter is commercialised IM) Tumblr was somewhat an exception, but much of its culture never really spilt out of there until circa 2014/2015, even then it was mostly just schoolgirls messing around, rather than 'serious' internet addicts for the most part making up much of the user base as far as I'm aware... (could be wrong on that, given a lot of Jul/Kafuka members were also on Tumblr, but were occupying a totally different space to the casual schoolgirl crowd like my sister back then) |
