But it also so happens to be a mobile game made by yours truly, and I'm an admin so I decide on what is old and what is not. Box Smasher is a physics-based puzzle game where you throw balls at various constructions composed of boxes, and the aim is to rid the level of all boxes with a limited amount of balls. I originally wrote it as the final assignment for my programming course in high school, though I plan on continuing development of it. It's available for Android on Google Play and also a desktop version available on Itch.io.

If you check the CSS it is indeed intentional, .footer's font size is set to 0.85em. It's to make two lines fit better in the same height as the "powered by voxelmanip" badge. Small font size vs. regular font size:

There would certainly be some amount of demand for an Infiniminer-like game in Minetest, someone even asked about whether something like it existed in the Minetest Discord server just a couple days ago. (this thread was linked, obviously ) And of course, building upon the Infiniminer base and adding some more gameplay elements into it would be neat. But it's fine. Take your time, or put it on hold for a while if you don't feel the motivation to work on it. Please don't feel like anyone is forcing you to work on it.

Site Admin Posts: 229 Joined: 2022-06-04	Haha, hey, at least it's kinda usable! The reason there's duplicate profile picture and username is because there's two post layouts. One for desktop where it's a column left to the post text, and one for mobile where it's a row above the post text. Usually the inactive layout would be hidden with CSS but... I assume this doesn't support any CSS, like, at all.

Site Admin Posts: 229 Joined: 2022-06-04	Ahh, the server hasn't seen much activity recently has it... I have done some refactoring of the game and mods that the server runs on. All the server's mods are now self-contained as one game, which is now fully open source: https://github.com/rollerozxa/voxelmanip-classic. MIT licensed, assets under other licenses. There is also a Wiki up for the server, because I've always wanted a server with some lore. You can find it at https://classic.voxelmanip.se/, which is intended to act as the server's website from now on.

I've switched over the main instance of Voxelmanip Forums to the new Cirrusboard codebase, as I believe it's more or less ready now. There are of course some things missing, the user-facing ones would be post layouts and the PM system. Those will be implemented within due time, along with new moderation tools.

After having to rotate my heatsink and then installing them into my 2 remaining memory slots I now have a whopping 32GB of RAM! Surely that's enough for a couple Firefox tabs! Umm, in actuality, I wanted it so I could run VMs alongside Android Studio and everything for... development purposes, and without OOMing. The memory sticks were fairly cheap anyways, so it was pretty worthwhile.

Good choice with Arch by the way, ever since I switched to Manjaro (an Arch-based distro, later I jumped to straight up upstream Arch) I couldn't switch back to Debian-based distros with obsolete repositories and a frankly terrible packaga manager (unfortunately I still have to deal with it during development and managing servers ). As for DE recommendations, well, currently on my desktop I use KDE Plasma. But for my laptop and on VMs I generally use LXQt (not to be confused with LXDE which is obsolete and was forked into LXQt). KDE Plasma is certainly not the heaviest DE (especially with the compositor disabled) but I still want something smaller and more minimal on a system where I need to wrang out all the power I can or am constrained by disk or memory usage. LXQt is... perfectly okay but as I mentioned before it feels a bit empty, for anything other than a VM or a decade old laptop I'd want to pick something different. Plasma I have no issues with and I can certainly recommend, though I certainly pick and choose components (e.g. I use Kitty instead of Konsole). `plasma-meta` is good in that regard because it's a metapackage that installs the Plasma desktop environment without much of anything else, so you pick and choose the system utilities you install in addition instead of having the entire KDE suite forced upon you.

It certainly showed its age, having a Phenom processor from two decades ago and generally being a bit of a pain in the arse. But, no more. Yesterday I put it together after all the parts arrived, and got to work setting it up, installing all my packages and moving over my home folder. Most important thing for me is the Ryzen 5 5600. Plenty of threads to go around for compiling stuff quickly, very useful.

This software is now called Cirrusboard and it will be replacing the current codebase Voxelmanip Forums runs on. In the last announcement post I mentioned that I would set up a mirror using the new software when it is stable enough. Well... it has been up for a while, but I'll just post it here as well: https://grejer.voxelmanip.se/gyarb-dev/ It uses the same database and everything, so you are able to make posts and such on the new site. There are various things I'm still yet to implement, but they are coming soon enough.

Site Admin Posts: 229 Joined: 2022-06-04	Dead thread... About a month ago I took some screenshots of various places in the Voxelmanip Classic server with x2048's 'bfs' (BIG FAT SHADERS) branch. They were also featured on the Minetest Fosstodon a while back too.
