The associations have been fixed since childhood, that's as far as I can remember. Here's an approximate rendition of them:

I remember the number ones because it was at the intersection of a few different things for me:

* I had an OCD-ish fixation on even numbers, especially 2, 4 and 8 (guess 6 is 'impure' because it is 2x3, thus having an odd number in its ancestry?). Everything I did had to be in those numbers. Actual example: me playing Rayman M and failing a race level, going in the menu and starting over was 5 actions, so I had to swallow my spit 3 times to bring it to 8.

* I had an imaginary kind of world that was actually a Myst-like set of worlds that you would access through linking books (the concept fascinated me). There was a bookcase full of those books. The worlds had distinct color schemes and vibes, and they were grouped by vibe. The most pleasant ones, naturally, had colors green/yellow/pink (2/4/8) and had a round, nature-y vibe.

(Another thing I was wondering is whether it affects the perception of psychological pricing; like prices ending in a bunch of nines to make it seem cheaper, and such)
Since 9 is brown, those are what I call shitstain prices. Not very pleasant.

Oh, yeah. The dynamic preview is working fine now. I think it was just because the server was being slow...

Anyway, yeah. I could invite some people over here, not sure they'd be very active tho.

Also, yeah, melonDS has gotten pretty popular. I'd never have expected that tbh... I think wifi emulation played a lot in this.

I have that. Namely, numbers and letters have colors for me. For numbers, it's really in my face: when I see them, I feel as if they were colored, I even see the colors "for real" sometimes.

Anyone else has that kind of fun shit going?

My browser autofills the first password field, but the second one is blank. I guess that makes sense... the issue is that if I try to submit the form like that, I get an error because the two fields don't match, so I need to remember to clear the first password field.

I wonder if there's a way to change that...

I looked back at how it works on my board... it asks you for your current password, new password, repeat new password. It doesn't attempt to change your password unless both "new password" fields are filled (and then it throws an error if they don't match, or if "current password" is incorrect). Maybe something like this could work?

(I notice that if "current password" and "new password" are filled but not "repeat new password", it ignores the fields and doesn't change your password. not ideal)

The melonDS forums seem to be absolutely popping though and carrying the Acmlmboard legacy, when I've talked to people and mentioned Acmlmboard they tend to simply know it as "that forum software melonDS uses".
Hah, that's funny to hear! I didn't expect Acmlmboard to get known this way.

Heh. :eyeshift: I do have to admit I maybe took a little bit of inspiration with the translucency and such. Though I did just use the same background image generator that Kak made and green is also my favourite colour so that's just the primary colour I went for the forums.
Heh, small world. I used that same generator to produce my background.

Fun related fact, the melonDS site theme was originally blue. I later thought it looked better in green, and changed it.

You can see the old variant via archive.org. It's also available on the board, but the board variants of the theme are slightly different (for one, I thought getting rid of the 2px borders around tables made it feel less cluttered visually).

Regardless, I guess I'll see if this board is active and if I can talk about fun stuff. I also run a board (Kuribo64) but that one is pretty dead these days. It's just sticking around for the sake of nostalgia, really.

EDIT- had a look at the theme list. I got the feeling the theme preview thingy wasn't working too well, but maybe it was just the server being a bit slow. It's fun seeing my old Green Night theme in there. I had forgotten about it... I can remember it being the default theme at Kuribo64 for a while, before the Kuribo64 theme (Nostalgia) was made. There was even an earlier version of the Green Night theme on the older Kuribo64 site/board.

Either way, fun fun. I kinda want to backport the old Daily Cycle theme that AB1.x had, I have nostalgia for that one.

ohai! I'm Arisotura, if you don't know me I'm related to the ROM hacking and emulation communities. I'm namely the author of melonDS.

I found this board while looking for Acmlmboards, interestingly (which was sparked by a thread at Jul). I see that this board isn't an Acmlmboard but a lookalike, that's interesting! I do use a custom Acmlmboard fork myself, it's based on Acmlmboard 2.0a1 -- I was drawn to it for the simplicity of the codebase.

I also gotta add, this board's visual theme has an uncanny resemblance to the melonDS site. I wonder if you took inspiration from there? The background is different, but same idea, and the color scheme is very similar. Amusing.
