I've made very little recently, and generally wanting to remove programming from being The thing I always think about but never do. I would like to try making & editing a video, using camera footage, though I am unsure on what to create. The more concrete ideas are making a short explainer on a topic I find interesting, using cut out paper and physical props on a desk. This comes from me liking vihart's videos, which I just spent a while trying to remember the name of by looking up old videos but it seems their channel has been deleted?? I'm not sure what other videos I would make! For a long time I've feel like I obsess over computers way too much despite them not actually being that fun to me anymore, and me not actually doing anything much creating wise on them anymore. Every idea ends up being wrapped up in having it computerified, which means I don't make things. :/ I keep telling myself to get back into doodling, and other interests, but having a thought of 'Should' around things makes me not do them. |

I have always wanted to make more video content but one thing or the other has prevented me from doing so - not having a good enough computer, not having a good mic, not having enough time, not having a place to actually record undisturbed... So my video output usually has ended up being raw gameplay dumps with no commentary. Not sure whether I will actually end up doing anything. I would quite like to do at least something so I can get to practice my spoken English. I always watch some videos every now and then that makes me think about wanting to make something similar, like I recently watched some of Ryan Gordon's videos about porting some games from SDL2 to SDL3 and they were very... simple production wise but still really interesting! Which got me inspired to whether I should do some screen recording while I do some coding stuff (maybe not just sitting and coding something on the fly, but something flashier like getting Tensy built on all the platforms it supports live), then daydreaming about the general structure of the video... then realise I have nowhere I could sit and record it continuously, and the mic in my new wireless headphones is... like a muffled phone call, not really pleasant to listen to. And then I put it on the backburner. |

KDEnlive is good for video editing, there's also OpenShot but it kinda sucks, so KDEnlive is the better option for advanced video editing I'd say. Pretty sure it's just a GUI frontend for FFMPEG but a very complex and capable one. |
