Just found out ffmpeg not only works with audio and video but also images... So it can quickly convert Webp to a PNG or a JPEG depending on the output extension you give it, just like how you can quickly convert between video and audio formats by relying on ffmpeg usually being smart enough to detect from file extension!

ffmpeg -i <image>.webp <image>.png

Another point for ffmpeg being the Swiss army knife of multimedia manipulation from the command-line, Imagemagick beware.

psDooM is pretty funny, enemies are processes on your computer that dies when you kill them. Finally, a game where the final boss is systemd.

I implemented hiding forums by putting them under a hidden dummy category. So now the announcements forum is hidden from the forum index as you can already go to it from the announcements bar. Felt it was a waste to have both visible.

Magma Mobile is a rather prolific mobile game developer from the good old days, Push Roll being one of their older titles.

It is a puzzle game where you push (or roll?) these creatures on the playfield. You can cause chain reactions by bumping several ones together, but you cannot push one which is located directly next to another one. 'ts pretty fun, I remember once getting to at least the Ocean world on one device.

Oh and the music is pretty good too. The menu music is Blup by maf464 and the in-game music is Mafland 2006 by the same artist... Which is actually a remix of mafland.xm, a tracker song! :D Surprisingly, the 2006 version also has an unofficial remix itself which is... "Mafslam".

Since Magma Mobile is still around and don't show any signs of removing their older lineup of games (last update was 2018, pretty recent for this forum), I'll link to its Google Play page.

When smartphones were relatively new and they got gyroscopes, a genre of virtual marble maze games started to emerge. Among those apps was aTilt 3D Labyrinth, one of the labyrinth games I remember playing the most back in the day. (mostly because they had a large amount of easy labyrinths little me could solve  )

It has a large amount of built-in labyrinths, but also the ability to download additional labyrinths and even make your own. Unfortunately the website that hosted these went down a couple years back including the level editor itself, I remember it being up as late as in 2018 during a trip to Germany but was too dumb at the time to archive any of it. So all of that is lost. :B

It was available in two versions, a free ad-supported version and the full version without ads. Since the ad libraries used are long broken they are essentially identical now, so here is a download of the free version:
aTilt 3D Labyrinth Free 1.7.2 (4.8MB)

If only the Google Store kept old versions.
They actually do. If you install something like Aurora Store or Raccoon you are able to manually download a specific version code of an app from Google's servers, as long as the app itself is available for download.

So if the latest version code is 140 something, you could just enumerate downwards and pick 50 or even 1. Some trial and error may be necessary as the versioning scheme may be different and they could also skip many version codes when releasing updates.

It is definitely 100% illegal, just up to Google to actually enforce a quality control on Play Store beyond indiscriminately killing off all apps with functionality they take offense to such as executing arbitrary code outside of app code distributed from the Play Store, accessing the filesystem unrestricted or sideloading APK files.

Yeah there is a sizable chunk of mobile Minecraft ripoffs that are just Minetest forks, on the iOS side these are usually forks of M*ltiCraft which in itself is one of the more reputable Minetest forks (...relatively speaking) which contain iOS support. Some traits to detect Minetest forks are absolutely terribly unoptimised UIs (...formspecs...) and containing a zip file in the assets folder with builtin lua code and game files, which it extracts on first startup.

They seem to have gone down in popularity however, instead it's usually Unity voxel game asset-flips nowadays, or even MCPE repackaged which Danil introduced me to the weird rabbit hole of Minecraft ripoffs that are literally old versions of MCPE being redistributed for free on Google Play.

Are polls and mood avatars returning, preferably without guest support for the latter?
Heh. :eyeshift: Polls and mood avatars are probably not returning though.

Former I don't know if it would even get much use apart from shitposts, anything more meaningful than that is hard to describe in ~5 vote answers and you'd be better off with a thread where people instead answer with a more full formed post. Mood avatars I don't see much point in, never really used that feature on Acmlmboards and I don't see the work for it to be enough.

Some features I do however want to see would be more minor things like a thread preview in newreply.php, and adding some nerdy statistics pages. Oh and maybe reimplementing the RPG system. But I dunno. My high school work project next semester is most likely going to be a forum software written entirely from scratch (using a modern templating engine and whatnot, but with a rudimentary frontend design akin to this one, backend would be the focus of the project), so I may or may not be switching over to that when it's done.

Shame there's a (pretty typical for 2022) lack of activity, though. Still, no point complaining about lack of activity because that solves nothing except more dwindling and sitting on the same rock.
I honestly don't find the lack of activity here to be that big of a deal though. People will post when they want or have the time to, I'd hate for people to post here simply for the sake of drumming up activity.

Banned because I don't have any actual logs that proves it, but I however do have anecdotal evidence to back it up.
